The Story of Stuff

February 20, 2012

Easy to understand video, and very important topic! There is one little part that is incorrect however; the part about computers.

As my talented boyfriend (majoring in computer science) put it (more or less); Computers are not build to be obsolete, they are actually build as solid as they can be, but technology changes rapidly and that is not the processor’s fault!

However, a better example is ink Cartriges. Many of them are programmed to be obsolete.

Did you know that some Cartriges have sofwares programmed to say when it is “empty”, but they can actually last as much as three times the lifetime they are given? (true story)
